The BCM Process in six steps

The BCM process consists of six steps, starting with the BCM Policy (step 1). This is where, to begin with,it is roughly determined who will occupy him/herself with the process and which organisational divisions will be surveyed. Then, a risk inventory is taken (step 2). In the Business Impact Analysis (step 3), the damaging consequences are determined when, as a result of a risk calamity becoming manifest, processes are closed down. In the Business Case & Benefit Logic (step 4), the results of this are given feedback, after which the policy is developed further. For now, the decision can be made which measures, for which risks, against what costs and in which context should be implemented. After this the measures (step 5) can be implemented, tested and maintained (step 6). The testing and maintenance are subject to constant input for renewed analyses and policy-making.
