BCM Academy GmbH On the current situation

Hamburg, Mar 17, 2020
Dear Participants, Ladies and Gentlemen, colleagues and business partners,

We, BC managers, crisis managers and ITSC managers and specialists all faced with special challenges due to the current situation.
Such an exceptional situation has not yet existed in this form in the last decades. The dynamics of the situation are considerable and it is now primarily a matter of slowing down the rapid spread of the Corona virus.

We, BCM Academy, follow the current situation around the topic "Coronavirus" SARS-CoV-2 / CoVid-19 very closely due to the proximity the specialist areas to our concern.
Already during the prepration of our summer semester 2020 (beginning of February), we have adapted our event procedures to the situation and provided virucidal hand disinfectants for our guests, employees as well as trainers at all central points of our Insight Center. Of course, there are also plenty of options for hand washing and ‘personal hygiene’ in our premises.
We disinfect all doorknobs, shared surfaces as well as buttons and handles several times a day and inform our participants here on site about all relevant rules (e.g. for sneezing and coughing, regular hand washing, etc.). We dispense with the usual welcome rituals such as shaking hands. Our trainings and courses are intended to serve the professional exchange – so it has been important to us since our foundation to hold small events.

Our learning groups consist of 4- to 12 people, the rooms are very spacious and offer enough space to keep distance from each other. We ventilate regularly. Furthermore, we have informed our participants of the current situation with a special mailing and asked us to inform us if there are signs of illness or if there were contact with persons from risk areas or if they have stayed themselves in a (possible) risk area.
After the press conference on the evening of 12 March 2020, Angela Merkel, Markus Söder and Peter Tschentscher stated that the situation has changed again for everyone. The organisation of events of any size should be thought through and best cancelled, social, direct ‘personally physical’ contacts should be avoided.

In order to make our contribution to the containment and slowdown of the virus spread, we decided immediately the day after the press conference (13.03.2020) to discontinue the presence course operation here at the Insight Center in Hamburg for the time being up to and including week 16 2020.

Suggestions for solutions for all missed appointments have already been prepared and communicated to all affected participants.
We reserve the right to extend the course-free time even further if, from our point of view, this is necessary for the protection of our participants, employees, guests and trainers alike or is required by the authorities of Hamburg or the Confederation. We will also be able to offer solutions for our current participants from Austria, Switzerland, Belgium and Luxembourg due to the possibly longer entry issue.

In order to keep the bureaucratic burden as low as possible for all parties involved, all invoices already written remain valid. There will be no recalculations to participate in replacement dates. All services related to your team training operations (course registrations, customer support, phone calls, information interviews, course advice, etc.) will of course continue in the usual way.
