Didactics
The Academy Model guarantees optimal adoption of knowledge and information by carefully balancing theory and practice whereby applicability in one’s own environment is tested immediately. The didactic method used within the Academy model, is based on the Kolb Method of empiric learning.
Empiric learning is to be conceived as a proces resulting in a behavioural change. In this process, various phases can be differentiated, such as collecting information, testing new insights or moments of consideration. The four phases that are differentiated, comprise the basic skills of those adressed in the learning proces.
The various ways through which people learn, are presented in consecutive phases within the education By using case studies, the contribution of content matter experts and constant interaction, the subject matter is discussed from different angles. By constantly alternating these educational elements, the preference of each individual is nurtured on different moments.
Consequently the learning moment for the thinker, dreamer, doer and decider respectively, thus occur on different moments. The strength of the learning process is repetition. Going through the proces in a course several times, an iterative process develops.
Systematics
The adoption of Business Continuity Management demands a basis attitude that needs ro be endorsed continuously. This endorsement is attained by inspiration. Used methods, techniques and the surroundings offered in the Academy model all contribute. All educations and courses take place in inspiring and active surroundings in which practical tasks, outside speakers and cases complete the programme.
Intervision
The students’ personal functioning is supervised by the instructor. There is always room for individual interaction and the functioning in the job situation will be discussed, both individually and in groups.
